OK, what happened to race 5? Well, it took place without me. It was due to be a long (2 hour) race and I didn't feel the car was sufficiently well prepared for a race of that length. (e.g. the fuel cell is only 5 gallons capacity, plenty for normal, short races, but not 2 full hours) The extended pushrod tubes that I fitted for the last race worked really well eliminating oil pressure loss when cornering. There is still a concern when going over the jumps so I'm going to fit a windage tray to try and keep most of the oil in the bottom of the oil pan. Engine out for fitting the windage tray. Note the new pushrod tubes, still shiny! Pictures 2 and 3 show windage tray in place.
RACE NEWS! Or rather no race news! The July race at Bithlo was cancelled due to a lot of rain here in the sunshine state. Oh well ! Onto August. |
